Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Maduro

ReadTalkHistoryEdit

The 1964 Anniversary Series is a box-pressed Nicaraguan puro released by Padrón in 1994 to mark thirty years of the company, produced in a maduro and a natural wrapper.

The series is made entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco aged a minimum of four years before rolling, a practice unusual at its release and since widely imitated.

Production

Rolled at Padrón's Estelí operation. Every box carries a serial number, introduced as a response to counterfeiting — one of the earliest such schemes in the industry.

Reception

The line is a fixture of end-of-year lists across the trade press. Silloa does not rate cigars; the room's verdicts for this cigar are on its cigar page.
