- Drew Estate borrowed a curing method from American pipe and chewing tobacco — hanging leaf in barns over smoldering hickory, oak, and maple fires — and put it on a premium cigar. Launched in 2013 as an offshoot of the MUWAT line and made at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, it wraps fire-cured Kentucky and Virginia leaf around Nicaraguan tobacco. The result tastes plainly of woodsmoke and barbecue, a profile no conventionally cured cigar delivers.
