- Ashton debuted the Virgin Sun Grown in 1999 as its full-bodied flagship, rolled for the brand at the Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic. The dark, oily Sumatra-seed wrapper is sun grown on a private estate in Ecuador — held by the Oliva tobacco-growing family — and fermented by the Fuentes before it covers Dominican binder and filler aged four to five years.
