- Don Carlos is the personal blend of family patriarch Carlos Fuente Sr., first blended in 1976 and reborn in 1986 as a Dominican cigar under a toothy African Cameroon wrapper. The binder and filler are Dominican leaf from the family's Chateau de la Fuente farm, giving a smooth medium-to-full smoke of sweet spice, cocoa and roasted nuts. The Eye of the Shark, a demi-pressed belicoso released in 2016 as a tribute to Fuente Sr., was Cigar Aficionado's Cigar of the Year for 2017.
